What Does It Take To Become A Winner?
When I was aged 12 I was given as a present for my birthday a 5ft snooker table. This was something I had wanted for quite a long time and I have to say, it is probably the best present I was ever bought and I quickly became hooked on playing the game.
Around six months later, I joined a local snooker hall with three of my friends, this is where we could play on full size tables. Every Saturday without fail we would catch the bus to the snooker hall to practice this wonderful sport. We were very impressed with the club and found out that it offered free coaching for children under the age of sixteen on a Saturday morning. The coach who was called Glen and who was aged around thirty at the time asked us if we would like to attend.Every three or four weeks the club would organise a snooker competition and they even layed on food and drinks for free.
I was some what of a quick learner and after a short period of time managed to compile a break of just over 20. Various members of the club started to clap and I could not stop laughing; I was some what overjoyed at what I had achieved. I felt on top of the world as nobody else in the group had managed to achieve this.
The coach then came over to see what all of the commotion was about. I thought he would be so proud of me and happy at my achievement, however he stated that if I could score twenty, I could score thirty. He told me to stop messing about and smiling, and to re-concentrate on the job in hand.
I had been brought straight back down to earth and was a bit gutted to say the least. I sure did learn a great deal from this experience and went on to score numerous breaks over the magical 100.
I have taken this lesson into my business life where I am sell front doors, I offer Asda Voucher Codes and I also advise people on how to stop stuttering.
As you can see this is a varied but interesting life and I now only accept the best that life has to offer.
